El Masnou is a town in the Costa del Maresme, in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). It is located 17 km northeast of Barcelona, between the towns of Montgat and Premia de Mar. Masnou belonged formerly Alella San Felix and San Martin de Teya, neighboring towns relatively far from the sea to protect against attacks pirates.
