The trade unionist, journalist and historian Jose Peirats Valls i, born in Vall de Uxo, Castellon, on May 15, 1908 and died on August 20, 1989 in Burriana. Son of a family of alpargateros, at the age of four with his family emigrated to L Hospitalet de Llobregat. He joined the libertarian youth. Editor of Solidaridad Obrera, organ of the CNT, is delegated by L Hospitalet in the historic Congress of the CNT in 1936, in Zaragoza, where he opposed the Alliance with the Union General de Trabajadores (UGT).
